About this course

This course focuses on developing computational thinking through text-based programming with Python. In alignment with the NSW Digital Technology syllabus, but relevant for all educators, teachers will be guided through practical coding tasks and classroom-ready examples that help students apply logic and problem-solving in real-world contexts. This session is designed to support teachers working with Years 5–8. This is the final course in a three-part series exploring key thinking skills in Digital Technologies.

You will:

  • Deepen understanding of computational thinking through text-based coding 
  • Learn how to introduce Python in a way that supports beginners and builds confidence 
  • Explore practical activities that align with NSW 7-8 Technologies syllabus
