From now on, all professional development activities, whether previously accredited or not, now count towards your required PD hours.Rest assured, this course maintains the same high standards as all ClassCover Learn courses. While NESA is no longer accrediting new PD courses, the flexibility of the new framework means you can explore more topics that interest you and still meet your accreditation requirements. Learn more

About this course

Documentation is a key responsibility for early childhood educators. However, many educators find it difficult to know what to document and how to effectively convey information to relevant stakeholders. With Yingzhao’s expertise she unpacks what documentation should include, how to record observations of children’s learning, behaviour and social interactions and how this can inform future planning and program implementation. Yingzhao provides explicit examples and easy to understand explanations so early childhood educators can feel more confident in recording necessary information, ensuring their documentation includes relevant detail and is an accurate assessment of a child’s progress.

You will:

  • Develop an understanding of the types of documentation required in early childhood education and why it is so important
  • Learn how to write an effective piece of documentation that is relevant for particular stakeholders
  • Be able to reflect on the quality of their documentation and assist colleagues with constructive feedback on the way they document in the early childhood setting
