About this course

Join Teacher and Occupational Therapist, Jennifer Egger in this deep dive into supporting students with diverse sensory processing needs. You will gain an understanding of sensory processing differences, their impact on learning and behaviour, and how to create inclusive, sensory-friendly classroom environments. Through real-world examples and evidence-based approaches, teachers and early childhood educators will learn to recognise sensory challenges, implement targeted interventions, and enhance student engagement and wellbeing. 

You will:

  • Develop an understanding of the eight sensory systems  
  • Develop an understanding of under and over responsive sensory processing, and sensory-seeking and avoiding behaviours 
  • Learn how to identify children who may have sensory processing challenges in the classroom or educational setting  
  • Learn strategies that can be used to support children with sensory processing challenges

Jenni is an experienced educator and leader with a strong background in supporting students with diverse learning needs. With expertise in inclusive education and student wellbeing, Jenni has worked across school and clinical settings to empower teachers, families, and children. Passionate about equity and engagement, she has led initiatives in Aboriginal education, Learning and Support, and contributed to professional learning for educators. Additionally, Jenni holds a Master of Occupational Therapy and is dedicated to bridging the gap between therapy and education to enhance student outcomes and improve inclusive practices.
